When walking along a corridor of office rooms, when one encounters an open door, this always happen:

Occupants of the room look up and out at the walkway.
Person/people walking past look into the room.

A second of intense staring, and all is past.

Such is our primate defensive/protective instincts.


How weird, actually.


The next time I'm in such a situation again, I shall yell "Hello! Howdy!" to the person(s) with whom I'm lucky enough to have shared an intense moment.
