I can't believe this nonsense.
I'm cleaning up the mess that someone else created.

I feel so sabotaged.

And so the story goes...

Due to the impossible marking load that I was given, (8 classes. 1 week. Even workaholic James said I should tell my HOD I can finish marking. In a year. Haha.) I feedbacked to the HOD and chained/shackled/pushed her to the wall and got the load lightened to 6 classes. She said she and S will mark 1 NA class each. Problem solved, for me. Or so I thought.

In actual fact the 2 classes of NA papers went into the hands of a certain RT cum pioneer batch alumnus cum JC junior of mine who offered Math, Chem, Phy, Econ at the last concluded GCE 'A' Levels. (Nobody told me. I found out during a chat with her.) Considering her fantastic grades, I thought, and I hoped, that the papers were well-marked.

But NO.

Within the 3 periods that I was in a certain NA class I actually spouted 2 expletives. What a First. Bloody hell there were so so sooooo many errors in the marking that my students were flustered and me frustrated and none of us could take it and they whined and asked pretty please would Ms Koh please remark the papers? We exchanged knowing glances and had a common enemy. (But hey, being professional, I didn't tell them who the marker is.) When I left the classroom we were still not done with the paper. Mind you, 90 minutes and we're still not done. I had to change the marks of more than half the class. Simply because the marker screwed up. Big time. I don't know whether to kill the marker or to kill myself.

I wished they gave that RT vacancy to Rachel.

And my HOD said, to troubleshoot, do impressionistic marking. Don't ask me what that means. You won't want to know, trust me. I need to get over myself first (or be desperate enough) before I employ that 'strategy'. I simply can't get over the fact that this is how the system functions.

I don't know whether to kill myself for not marking the NA scripts or kill the RT who did such a lousy job or kill the HOD for not hiring Rachel or kill the Principal for not hiring Rachel (also) or kill the powers-that-be in NIE and MOE for not hiring enough Humanities teachers or kill MOE for even after all that bureaucractic procedure (bullshit), there still exists so many loopholes and grey areas. And I don't even want to talk about the red tape and OB markers.

I realised I must have said too much in this blog. At least, I believe I had said enough to warrant me being blacklisted by the civil service/government.

Speaking of which, yesterday's interview with MOE was an amusing experience. Hahaha. Pleasant though. Go figure.

Big Brother is watching.
I do not conform.
