SYC 05 day one

SYC 05- Day 1

sitting in the Secretariat Room now watching tv, playing games on the computer, playing games on the x-box, checking handphones, flipping the camp booklet, surfing the web, munching on finger food, chatting, blah blah blah
and answering calls from the airport
and doing minimal administrative work.

that's us, Liaison Officers at SYC 05. Day 1.

as with the first day of SYC 03, i didn't make a single trip to the airport to welcome any delegation. instead i prefer to laze around at the hotel. whee. maybe i should get myself out of this place cos the air seems to make me sick.

first day of SYC 03, i fell sick. can't remember what it was but bloody hell, it lasted through the whole duration of the camp. thus making yours truly here feel upset with herself for not giving her best as a Singapore delegate. in a way, i see SYC 05 as a chance to redeem myself, though not in the capacity of a delegate. so yeah, here i am. fast forward to two years later, again, first day of SYC 05. i arrived around 0800hrs feeling great and on some sort of a high despite only hitting the sack at 0200hrs. but couple hours later, i felt an itching sensation in my nose. then,
HARCHOO!

shit.

i made a beeline for the first aid box. FEBS.
took 2 tablets before morning tea, another 2 after a light lunch,
and now i shall go check out the spread for afternoon tea.

6 tablets of FEBS and 2 Dequalinium lozenges later, it just seems to get worse.

anyway, dinner sucks. unanimous agreement.
what an anomaly from previous SYCs.
and i wish that the delegates will all be more responsible and have a system among their room mates and whatever so that there will not be anymore people who will be locked out.

the action begins tomorrow.
