it's amazing how i've always been able to seek solace and find comfort in jay chou's music. sitting silently, immersing myself, listening. listening with my heart. there's no way i can explain this, nor is there a need to. his music always bring to life another world, another lifetime. his lyrics are deeply evocative, without being sappy. nothing short of masterpieces. that unique, gentle yet strong voice hints subtly at a less-than-perfect life. one that has gone through hardships and more significantly(music-wise), heartache. and this comes through to his audience. subtle nuances that betray and also hightlight the underlying sadness and pain. the marks of a master. absolutely.
